Every company keeps a few things it probably should have thrown away. Ours was a website.
Atlanta Mattress Disposal went online in 2012 with one truck, one service, and one promise that was strange for its time: book your mattress pickup on the internet and see an honest price before anyone shows up. The site was built on Wix in an afternoon. The tagline had an exclamation point. The copyright line said Green Home Logistics LLC, because that was the company then. And for fourteen years, while everything around it changed, that little site just kept sitting there, online, taking the occasional booking.
This month we brought it back to life. Here is why, and what we did.
What started as a mattress pickup operation in Atlanta became LoadUp in 2014: a nationwide, on-demand junk removal marketplace built on the same two ideas that powered the original site. Price upfront, online. Pickups completed by independent, background checked Loaders. Hundreds of thousands of pickups later, those two ideas still carry the whole business.
Most companies would have quietly redirected the old domain years ago. We never could. Atlanta Mattress Disposal is not just an old URL to us. It is the proof of concept, the first customer-facing thing we ever shipped, and the clearest possible answer to the question every founder gets asked: where did this start?
"Our vision is to divert as many mattresses and box springs from landfills as possible. Through recycling, refurbishment, or donation."
The honest answer is that the technology finally caught up to the sentiment. LoadUp's booking engine grew into its own platform, Workmon, built so any home service brand can run on the same infrastructure that powers our marketplace. When the platform your origin story inspired becomes a product, there is only one right choice for its first heritage storefront.
So the revival is not a museum exhibit. The 2012 site now runs on 2026 rails: live booking with exact upfront pricing, a customer portal with text updates, and verified review scores. The oldest brand in the LoadUp family is now running the newest technology we have.
The redesign treats the original site like the artifact it is. The new look is built around a heritage badge stamped EST. 2012, mattress-stitch borders, and the colors of a hand-painted service sign. We moved hosting off Wix onto modern static infrastructure, which means the site now loads in a fraction of the time it used to. And we built dedicated pages for mattress and box spring pickup across twenty five metro Atlanta suburbs, from Alpharetta to McDonough, so neighbors can find local answers fast.
The tagline is still The GREEN Mattress Removal Choice, exclamation point included. The vision statement from the 2013 homepage is preserved word for word, because it still describes how every pickup works: recycling, refurbishment, or donation first, and the landfill only when nothing else will take it. Even the bed bug policy survives, because some things are simply true forever.
The phone still rings. The trucks still roll. A Loader still shows up, hauls the old bed out, and a family in Atlanta gets their garage back.
Atlanta Mattress Disposal will keep doing the one thing it has done since 2012, just faster and better measured. If you are in metro Atlanta with an old mattress leaning against a wall, the booking takes about two minutes and the price you see is the price you pay. And if you are curious about the longer story of how one truck became a nationwide marketplace, the full timeline is on our Where It All Started page.
Fourteen years is a long time to keep a website. It turns out it was worth it.
Book online in about two minutes. See your exact price before you pay, pick a window that fits your week, and a Loader handles the rest.
